Aberfeldie Football Club is proud to confirm the reappointment of Emily Smith and Ashleigh Gunn as our Senior Women’s Co-Head Coaches for the 2026 season.

Following a strong year leading the program in 2025, Smitty and Gunna have established themselves as exceptional leaders, mentors, and role models within our club. Their passion for the game, dedication to player development, and commitment to building a united and high-performing culture have significantly advanced our women’s program.
Both coaches bring an impressive depth of experience to their roles. Gunna’s decorated VFLW career — highlighted by her time as Western Bulldogs Co-Captain — combined with Smitty’s AFLW background and elite cricket experience, continues to shape the professionalism and growth of our Senior Women’s squad.
As they prepare for the 2026 season, Emily and Ashleigh will look to build on the strong foundations laid last year and further strengthen our women’s football pathway. Their leadership, knowledge, and vision ensure that the program is well positioned to continue rising in the years ahead.
We are delighted to have Gunna and Smitty recommit to Abers and look forward to another exciting chapter for our Senior Women’s group.
Bring on 2026!
