Dear Members & Supporters.
You will have become aware that a Review has been reported as finding that Aberfeldie were in breach of Player Payment Rules in Season 2017.
We are in the process of preparing a detailed response to such a finding which will be completed by Tuesday 6th March as required by the EDFL. (We only received the Report last Tuesday 27th February.)
This information is provided to Members because of the newspaper report on Thursday 1st of March and a considerable volume of uninformed speculation, misinformation, rumor and innuendo as to what our Club may have done.
We place on the record for your information at this early stage that Abers has not concealed any player payments or benefits nor has it endeavored to do so. More importantly, it has been found not to have done so.
It has also been found to have maintained records of player payments ‘very well’.
The club wishes to place on the record that any alleged non-compliance relates to administrative rule interpretations on declared player payments.
The club has been totally transparent and cooperative with the review process and has been complimented accordingly in the report.
The club will deal thoroughly and diligently with its response to the review through the appropriate channels.
In the meantime, we ask for your patience and understanding, and we will advise you further when more information comes to hand as the process proceeds.
